The Heathcote Bush Market is held on the first Saturday of the month in the centre of town. There is a Bush Carnival at Heathcote Showgrounds in September with fun activities, a bush market, pony and horse rides, live country music and family games. The Golden Grape Festival occurs in October and the agricultural show in November.

Bushwalking, cycling, orienteering, photography, wildflowers, birdwatching and sightseeing can all be enjoyed within the town precinct including viewing historic buildings such as the newly refurbished Old Goal, Courthouse and Council Office.

This interesting and colourful phenomenon was created by early gold mining activities. Sluicing work was carried on until the early 1880’s and it was in this period that work in the Pink Cliff’s area revealed these colourful “hills”.

Take a picnic and spend time meandering about the reserve.
